“Beauty is the path to God, who is the source of all beauty." Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
Using the Church’s vast tradition of sacred art, architecture, and design, Purification Heritage Center provides a place to seek an encounter with the Lord.
We believe that sacred art can be a path to encounter and fall in love with Jesus, His Church, and His teachings. The Lord is trying to impact our hearts, and one of the ways we help Him make an impact is through art that captures our attention, draws us in, and invites us to pause and sit in wonder and awe at the majesty before us.
You can help us create a sacred place to seek, find, and renew faith by supporting our Sacred Art Fund.
ART PROJECTS
SEVEN SORROWS WALK
The Seven Sorrows of Our Lady are depicted by German artist Adele Helena Reut. Her beautifully detailed drawings evoke the sufferings that the Blessed Virgin Mary experienced as the mother of Jesus.
The metal sculptures in the garden that hold each piece of art were forged by Mike Route of Red Iron Studio, Fredric, Wisconsin. Each sculpture progressively sheds extra ornamentation, thus reflecting the ability of sorrow to lay bare the essentials of life and death.
VIA LUCIS
As a companion devotion to the Via Crucis, or Stations of the Cross, this prayer garden will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the glorious joy of Christ’s Resurrection, His appearances to His disciples, and the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
We are in the process of commissioning original artwork in this garden depicting the fourteen Stations of the Ressurection and a Resurrected Jesus. An altar, outdoor amphitheater, and processional crucifix will enhance our ability to celebrate the Church's liturgy in this natural, outdoor setting.
CHAPEL
Plans are underway for an event center to support the programming and faith experience at the PHC campus. A small chapel is included in those plans which will provide an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
We are in the process of commissioning a mosaic piece for display above the altar. The chapel design includes large windows, taking advantage of the natural light and providing a beautiful canvas to illuminate sacred art.
COURTYARD AND CRUCIFIX
Other opportunities for sacred art include prayer spaces inside the event center and in the courtyard and gardens throughout the property.
An outdoor Crucifix will provide a meaningful place for quiet contemplation along one of the walking trails.
