Heritage is unique in that we reach back to honor the history of Catholicism in Georgia while reaching forward to revitalize a faith-focused community for future generations.
The effort to preserve our Catholic heritage that began over eight years ago with the restoration of the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary has grown into a mission that only God could inspire. We are revitalizing the first Catholic settlement in Georgia, which includes the historic church and cemeteries, a retreat center, and a working farm, into an entire faith-focused community.
A dynamic public/private partnership drives our development, using private monies to fund the construction of the new retreat facilities alongside public charitable donations that support historic restoration, programming, sacred art, conservation, and clergy renewal.
